Hospital-sector members who had a work-related injury or illness after April 1, 2020, and received loss of earnings (LOE) benefits should call the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) at 1-800-387-0750 to advise that their pre-injury earnings have increased, by how much and when the increase was effective, which should increase the rate of their LOE benefits.
To be cautious, members should also advise the WSIB in writing via fax at 1-888-313-7373, two-way message or www.wsib.ca/upload. Members should keep copies of the fax or upload confirmation. If their rate is not increased within a month, the member should ask to speak to a manager to escalate the issue and follow up regularly thereafter.
