Members had an opportunity to learn about the leaders, innovators, and advocates who helped shape healthcare in Canada and advance the nursing profession. The event also featured exhibits, refreshments, door prizes, and a scavenger hunt.

Over 2,300 ONA80 members participated in events across all sites and Bargaining Units.
Nursing Week Gala
The week’s highlight was the ONA80 Gala Dinner, held Wednesday evening, May 13, 2026, and attended by more than 350 members and guests!!
It was a magical night filled with fun, music and dance, delicious food, and a strong sense of union!

Evening Receptions – All Sunnybrook Campuses
Special evening receptions were held at Bayview, Holland, and St. John’s campuses. These events welcomed more than 320 ONA members meeting members of local Bargaining Unit Executive and getting a ton of ONA swag and door prizes - what an amazing experience and what a buzz!!
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening receptions such a success. Together, we continue to demonstrate the strength and solidarity of ONA80.

Multicultural Nurses Exhibit – Bayview Campus
Titled "Legacy of Care: A Tapestry of Healing," the exhibit celebrated the journey from the rich heritage of nursing pioneers to today’s trailblazers.
The experience was guided by Mr. Francis Jeffers, who brought deep insight into the legacy and impact of diverse voices in health care.

What a beautiful Nursing Week celebration we have had during the week of May 8-14, 2023.
Our Gala on May 10, 2023 was a blast of fun attended by a record breaking just under 400 splendid colleagues. Everyone was so elegant and nicely dressed up.
We had a ton of fun, fine food and wine and dance floor that was open to all until midnight! There were more than $9,000 in value door-prizes.
